Aidan Spencer Selected for National Award and Scholarship!
In celebration of National 4-H Week, National 4-H Council today announced that Aidan Spencer, 18, of Oklahoma City, Okla., is the winner of the 2021 4-H and HughesNet Youth in Action Pillar Award for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Spencer organized more than 60 events, raised $7,000 and founded three local robotics teams in effort to expand STEM access for youth in his community—efforts for which he will be recognized nationally and receive a $5,000 scholarship. The 4-H Youth in Action Awards, sponsored in part by HughesNet, began in 2010 to recognize 4-H’ers who have used the knowledge they gained in 4-H to create a lasting impact in their communities. Read More...
Time to Celebrate!
This year’s National 4-H Week is Oct. 4-10. The theme is Opportunity4All, a campaign that was created by National 4-H Council to rally support for Cooperative Extension’s 4-H program and identify solutions to eliminate the opportunity gap that affects 55 million kids across America.

Wednesday, Oct. 7, is National 4-H Spirit Day. On this special day, share your 4-H pride by wearing your favorite 4-H t-shirt or representing the 4-H clover at school, extracurricular activities or work. This is your day to go all GREEN!

Oklahoma County 4-H Officers will be reading a proclamation at the courthouse to commemorate 4-H Month in October. This month, we will kick off our Fall Service Project, H.U.G.S. (Hats, Underwear, Gloves, and Socks). We will be collecting these new clothing items across the county, with donation boxes at the County Courthouse and the Extension Office. You can even make your own donation box and ask your church, school, friends, and families to donate! Turn in your donations to the Extension Office by November 6th.

Donations for kids sizes will go to Citizens Caring for Children, an organization that provides clothing and other necessities for foster families in Oklahoma. Adult items will be donated to The Homeless Alliance, and organization that provides opportunities for advancement to the housing insecure people of Oklahoma.
