PUSD Stakeholder Survey Due May 8
You should have received an email invitation with a link to the survey. The online survey is compatible with any computer, tablet, or smartphone. There’s also a “save and continue later” feature that allows you to complete the survey at your convenience.

This survey was started last year as part of an ongoing commitment to listening and engaging our school community in how we best serve our students. The survey will be open to all PUSD families, staff, students in grades 6-12, and new this year, community members.

The survey questions address areas like academic preparation, professional development, student support, family involvement, safety, and more. It should take approximately 10 minutes to complete.

The survey is offered in English, Spanish and Chinese and all survey responses are confidential.

Your input will give us insights into how we can best serve our students, families, and staff. We look forward to learning from your input to help our educational community thrive.

Thank you in advance for your participation and input!

A Note From Counseling
All junior families will be receiving Junior Status Letters in the mail within the next week or two. These letters will help identify whether your student is on track for 4-year college, 2-year college, or may be deficient for graduation. Counselors will be meeting with all juniors this month to get to know them and start the conversation around post high school plans and finding the right college fit.

Counselors will also be sending home summer school recommendations to all students who have received a D or F in one or more classes. If your student received a D or F on the March 23   report card, it is advisable to secure a spot in summer school. Courses can be cancelled after June 1 if your student passes those courses by emailing  [email protected] Additional information regarding summer school can be found here https://tinyurl.com/SummerProgramsPUSD.

SENIORS ! May 1st is National Decision Day! Make sure you have notified the college you plan to attend and have submitted any last minute items required by the individual school. Let your counselor know what you have decided to do next year. We want to share in the excitement with you!

Thanks from PPIE
Thank you for joining our 7th Annual Run for Education at Alameda County Fairgrounds. The weather was great, the crowds were strong, and the kids absolutely loved being with Stomper of the Oakland A’s! Thanks to you and your support, we raised a new record $113,000 net which helps fund librarians, reading and math intervention, support counselors and more at your school. Equally important, the event provides a valuable sense of community - as you can see from this quote.  There were thousands of people of all colors and backgrounds, from different walks of life, of various fitness levels coming together for one purpose: walking and/ or running for better education, better community, and better future. I saw the beautiful social fabric of our community, and suddenly felt such belonging and gratitude. As a first generation immigrant from China, occasionally I have felt rootless and unsecured. Now I see a united community, and felt the spirit of the pioneer era when people all worked together to build their communities. Now I know this is my community and my home.

Thank you again for your support!

A Message from FAB President Derek Perez
We are asking for your help to fund Foothill’s needs this year. Foothill High School is in need of some much-needed support for the replacement of our widely-used sports field. As you likely know, the Stadium Field is in bad shape. Not only is it an eye sore, but its condition also creates safety hazards for our athletes, band members, students and guests.
Although referred to as the "Football Field", make no mistake about it, many other sports, students and clubs use this essential asset for their activities. Over 2,000 kids per year use the facility!
Your support will ensure future generations of Foothill students can use a field on which they are both safe on, and proud of!
Right now the cost of the field is approximately $950,000. Thanks to the efforts of the district, Foothill High School, the Foothill Band, FHS PTSA and the Athletic Boosters, we've managed to raise most of the funds! With that being said, we're still in desperate need of more to complete this project.
So please, click here to donate to help support this cause. Be a part of history. Keep our students safe, and our legacy strong!

From the Senior Activities Parent Committee:
Junior parents!
A fun and exciting way to keep up with your senior student next year is to get involved with the Senior Activities Parents Committee for the class of 2020. We will be meeting for the first time with Class of 2019 parents to share what the committee does, identify leads role and plan for Walk-Through Registration on August 5-6. The Senior Activities Parents Committee organizes a number of events that are not PUSD-sponsored, but that aim to provide memorable experiences for seniors as they launch into the world. The meeting will take place on May 7th at 7pm in the Foothill Library.
Senior Memory Collages
(OPTIONAL)
To be displayed at After the Ball Breakfast and
Grad Night (NOT A PUSD SPONSORED EVENT)
Deadline: Friday, May 10th, 2019
Drop off location: FHS Office, Senior Collage Box
SIZE: 11"x14"
This is an optional tradition at Foothill. Each year, parents may create a photo collage of their student. Collages will be displayed at the after-the-ball breakfast (May 11th) and Grad Night (May 31st). This is a great surprise and unique keepsake for your graduate.
HOW TO MAKE THE COLLAGES:
We recommend using the Photo Department at https://www.costcophotocenter.com/ProductDetails/CollagePrints for the cheapest and fastest way to create a memory collage. Snapfish.com and Shutterfly.com are both great alternatives as well. Collages should be 11x14”. No need to laminate.
