“Land of Triumph and Tragedy: Voices of the Italian Fallen Workers” Book Launch
Jointly hosted by Villa Charities, Marino Toppan and Paola Breda of the Italian Fallen Workers Memorial Project, we invite you to join us on May 23 at 7pm to celebrate the launch of the new book outlining the full story of the Italian immigration to Canada, including the still unknown and unrecognized history of the Italian Fallen Workers.

“Material Worlds” by Lucas Biagini is a series of paintings that are highly textured, layered, fused with colour and even geological in appearance. “Above and Beyond” by Nick Biagini is inspired by the beauty of Italian sceneries and uses a technique called ‘impasto’, where the paint is laid on in very thick layers, appearing to come out of the canvas. Tee Off for a Good Cause at our Annual Golf Classic
The 43rd Annual Villa Charities Golf Classic, presented by Lady York Foods, will be held on Wednesday, June 26 at the Wooden Sticks Golf Club in Uxbridge. On April 26, the residents at Caboto Terrace enjoyed an evening of dancing and Italian-themed music. The residents were also treated to homemade pizza and cake provided by fellow resident Rolando Tocci.

Villa Colombo Toronto Offers Horticulture Therapy for Residents
This spring, Villa Colombo Toronto is offering a new Horticulture Therapy program to encourage residents to participate in gardening activities that will help improve their physical and mental health, as well as promoting socialization. At the end of each session, the plants will be sold to family members, staff and visitors to help support the program.
