A Collaborative Innovation Reaches Across Borders
The Kingston-Syracuse Pathway partnership will bolster the region's unique economies
Kingston Economic Development Corporation, Office of Partnerships and Innovation at Queen's University, and Ontario East Economic Development Commission are pleased to have entered into a partnership with the Center State Corporation for Economic Opportunity, SUNY Upstate Medical University, and the Central New York Biotech Accelerator to launch the Kingston- Syracuse Pathway.

Government Invests in Frulact
On Friday, February 13th, FedDev Ontario, along with the Government of Ontario, announced a combined investment of up to $6 million for Frulact Canada.
The Government of Canada is committed to making sure that Canada is a top destination for businesses to invest, grow and create jobs. This funding has helped Frulact Canada to establish a new food processing facility in Kingston that will serve as the company's North American base for business, and its first facility in Canada, bringing 55 jobs to the region. This is an example of how attracting global investment creates jobs and opportunities for Canadians now and in the future.

Spearhead Brewery Company Officially Opens its Doors in Kingston
On April 13,
Spearhead Brewery Company officially opened the doors to their state-of-the-art 16,000 sq-ft facility at 675 Development Drive in Kingston. The event was marked by a ceremonial ribbon cutting attended by Mark Gerretsen, Member of Parliament for Kingston and the Islands, and Mayor of Kingston Bryan Paterson. Spearhead's Grand Opening is just the latest development in Kingston's growing reputation as "Canada's first capital of beer."
