PTC Committee Openings
for the 2018-2019 School Year
The Cossitt PTC has large number of committees that need parent volunteers to help coordinate these activities. It's a great way to contribute to your child's Cossitt experience.  

There are volunteer opportunities at varying levels so there is something for everyone.  In most cases, there are committee co-chairs to assist, notes from previous chairs passed down for guidance, and additional resources of support.

PTC Executive Board Open Positions
The PTC Executive Board is still searching to fill a few available board positions for the 2018-19 school year.
If you are interested in filling one of the open positions, please contact David Grayson at [email protected] by  Friday, April 20 . It's a great way to play a meaningful role in shaping your student's experience at Cossitt.

Ready, Set, Go......!!!!  The Run for District 102 5K and 1 mile run/walk takes place next Sunday, April 29th at 8:30 am!  Whether you're running, walking, jogging or strolling, it's sure to be a great time!

ALSO  we still need volunteers for pre-race day and race day activities.   Please consider helping with this fun event!  We have a variety of volunteer roles and time slots available -- something for everyone!!

Yearbooks on Sale Now!
Capture the 2017-18 School Year at Cossitt.   Yearbooks are $13 each and will be distributed to students during the last week of school. All yearbook orders and payments are done online (see link below). You will receive an email confirmation upon placing an order.   If you are not able or prefer not to order a yearbook online (via personal PayPal or credit card), please contact  Jen Barnicle,   [email protected]  

Please note: To order a yearbook for more than one student, follow these instructions...
1. Click on the link below, then click "Add to Cart"
2. Key in recipient last name (select your child from the drop-down list)
3. Include your email
4. To add a yearbook for another child, click "Continue Shopping" at top 
5. Repeat the process for each additional child
6. Click Checkout

Order Your End of the Year Event T-Shirt
The 22nd annual End of the Year All School Event is scheduled for  Friday, June 1.  It will be an afternoon of games, music, food, friends and fun to celebrate a year of success together and promote a spirit of unity among our students. To celebrate our spirit of unity, each student will receive a t-shirt to wear the day of the event and to have as a keepsake.  

This year we are collecting the orders through this SignUpGenius.   The cost of the shirt is $4.00 for youth sizes and $5.00 for adult sizes, plus the transaction fee (5% fee + $0.50 per transaction - which is added on to the order in order to keep the PTC costs low). End Of the Year Event Volunteer Sign-up
Heads up Parents! The End of Year Event is scheduled for Friday June 1st from 12:00-3:00 pm. The Volunteer Sign will be coming out next  Friday April 27th in the Friday folder!  
Spring Cleaning Opportunity!
As the weather s-l-o-w-l-y begins to warm up, it's time to bring out the shorts and t-shirts!  Instead of putting away clothes that won't fit next fall, donate them to the Cossitt clothing sale!  

We are accepting items NOW for the September 29th sale. Drop them off on the front  porch   at 76 S. 7th Avenue (only current items in excellent condition please).  We will prep the clothes for the sale and all proceeds go directly to Cossitt PTC. Don't forget that donations are tax-deductible, a receipt is available on our website by clicking on the following link: Cossitt Clothing Sale.   Get some spring cleaning done while helping Cossitt!

Science Center Earth Day Family Night
The Science Center Parent Enrichment Council presents the 7th Annual  Earth Day Family Night open house on Friday, April 20, 6:30-8pm at the A llen P. Zak Science Discovery Center, 930 N. Barnesdale, LaGrange Park.  Where does our stuff go when we throw it away? Follow the Trail!  Click on the link below for more information.
Thank You to the
1st Grade Daisies & 6th Grade Girl Scouts
A special note of thanks to the 1st grade Daisy Troop who planted beautiful pansies outside the Cossitt Main Office! Together they added a lovely touch of spring to the school and made our entrance look so pretty!  Thank you also to Jen TuerkNicole Garrity, Victoria Cultra and the 6th grade Girl Scouts from Cossitt who assisted, as well as Eric Vymyslicky from Garden Club.
Grades 4-6 Flying High Pizza FUNdraiser
Calling all 4th-6th graders!  Join us for a Flying High Pizza FUNdraiser on  Saturday, April 28, 7:30-9:30pm !  

Race your friends in the inflatable obstacle course, jump on the trampolines, and enjoy open gym time, pizza, and lemonade.  For more information, click on the following link:

Cossitt PTC Fun Fact!
Thanks to the terrific fundraising efforts and generous donations of  so many Cos si tt families, the PTC was able to  budget approximately $3,400 this year t owards social activities for the students.  Events such as the Back to School Party, Family Fun Night, the Art Show, classroom parties and more truly enhance the students' Cossitt experience.

Then, "Wine out"  at Steak + Vine, 37 South La Grange Rd, La Grange, 5:00-9:00pm! Enjoy wine, appetizers, or anything else you have an appetite for!  Rumor has it that PIMA might have a trio or two of live music playing that evening.
