The Knights of Columbus Public Safety recognized Fire Sergeant Patrick Watson as the Firefighter of the Year at their appreciation luncheon.

Main Street
Memorial Bench Program
Perry Main Street has one remaining bench plaque available for purchase through its Memorial Bench Program in downtown Perry.

The program not only honors and remembers loved ones, but also assists the Perry Main Street Advisory Board with advertising costs for promoting downtown.  The program is available to area residents, organizations and businesses as a way to honor or memorialize a friend, relative, graduating class or any other individual or group.  

Perry receives 2018 national Main Street accreditation
Perry has received accreditation for 2018 as a Main Street America program for meeting rigorous performance standards set by the National Main Street Center. 

Perry’s Main Street program works to promote and create a thriving business district downtown and along main corridors into downtown, while preserving Perry’s historic resources and character.

Public Notice
The City of Perry recommended 2019 Operating Budget is now available for public inspection at the Office of the City Manager, Perry City Hall, 1211 Washington Street, Perry, GA.  Per O.C.G.A. 36.31.8(g), as amended, the official public hearing will be on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at Perry City Hall.  Public input is welcome.
Police Department
Lt. David Hill and Sgt. Jeff Keenom recently traveled to Washington, D.C. to participate in a number of planned events in honor of National Police Week. In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week. They joined thousands of law enforcement officers from around the world to participate in a number of planned events which honor those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Municipal Court
Starting June 2018, Judge Lewis will be our new lead Municipal Court Judge. Sharell Lewis is a 1985 graduate of the University of Georgia.  She attended the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University where she obtained her J.D. in 1995.
