Dear Parents,
What a great time of the year! While we are quickly rolling toward the end of school with all manner of special events, I am pausing to reflect. This has been a fast, but amazing year! How we have seen your precious children grow, not only academically, but most importantly, spiritually! Without seeing this journey through the eyes of God, we have nothing but vain efforts and successes. We are thankful for the ability to teach with eternity in mind!
Before closing, I would like to thank all who participated in making our recent ACSI Speech Meet a huge success! For those who donated cookies or time for this event...you are so appreciated! In particular, thank you Miss Ingels for coordinating this event and and thank you to the teacher helpers - Mrs. Kimbel, Mrs. Jones, Mrs. Williams, Ms. Parrish and Mrs. Munar. Many hands make lighter work!
Have a blessed weekend and Happy Mother's Day!

GATE
The students became the teachers, as parents participated in the final GATE 3 class of the year. Students shared their work at stations and challenged their parents to complete tasks involving Perception, Graphing, Logic, Invention, and It's a Numbers World. It was a great celebration of student learning to conclude our year of Discovery and Exploration.
The Gate 4 class participated in a National Poetry Competition. We are proud to announce that each of the students who submitted poetry was selected to be a part of the published Anthology, A Celebration of Poets - Spring 2019 .
"It is such a pleasure to read through so many excellent poems in one packet. Ordinarily, about half of the poems sent in are rejected during our preliminary judging. However, from the packet you sent in we accepted all the poems. This is very unusual. All of your entries portrayed a strong image and we were thoroughly impressed with your student's work"

Falcon Referral Program
VCS is offering a tuition discount for the 2019-2020 school year - The Falcon Referral Discount! You can earn $1000 credit toward your tuition for the 2019-2020 school year by referring a new family.
How does it work?
Refer a new family to VCS. When the new family enrolls for the 2019-2020 school year, the referring family (that's you!) and the new family will each receive $1000 credit for the 2019 -2020 school year, toward their tuition. You can refer up to five (5) families in one school year. The $1000 credit is off your total tuition, not per child.
For more details or to refer a friend to visit VCS, contact Maylene Ripley, Director or Enrollment at 707-446-1776, ext. 5300.

Parent Alert!
~ Help Us to Keep our Students Healthy~
Please be sure to keep students home when they are experiencing signs of illness. Students must be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school, without the use of medication. Basic hygiene, such as washing hands, using hand sanitizer and covering your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing can deter the spread of germs causing illness.
Our Student's Health is # 1

Helpful Hints!
Should it be necessary for a student to miss school due to a vacation, parents must procure permission from administration
5 days in advance of the absence by filling out our Planned Absence Form.
Approval of a planned absence is subject to a review of attendance history and academic standing. Failure to receive advance absence approval may result in an unexcused absence.
The Planned Absence Form is available in the Elementary Office.
