The Lion King JR roars into the Novi Youth Theatre
See the African Savanna come to life on stage with Simba, Rafiki and an unforgettable cast of characters as they journey from Pride Rock to the jungle and back again in the Youth Musical Theatre production of The Lion King JR at the Novi Civic Center on May 2-5.

The production features two casts with a total of 115 actors in grades 1 to 8. This musical adventure stars Phoenix Long of Novi as Simba and Max Shamus of Novi as Young Simba for the Grasslands Cast, and Justin Han of Novi as Simba and Alex Zerbonia of Farmington Hills as Young Simba for the Pridelands Cast.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Children 2 and under are free. All seats are general admission. For information about the Novi Youth Theatre and other theatre opportunities in Novi please contact the Novi Parks office at 248-347-0400.
Swing into spring with Novi's adult tennis league
The weather is warming up and now is the perfect time to perfect your game in the Adult Tennis League.

Players will compete in 12 matches on a weekly basis at a convenient time and location for both. All players must submit their UTSA rating and will be assigned a division. A league banquet is included in the registration price.

The cost to play is $50/resident and $60/non-resident. The registration deadline is May 2. The league runs from May 13-August 30.
Explore the creatures of the sky with Birding 101
Learn about the birds who take to the sky in Novi at the free Birding 101 program on Thursday, May 9 from 1-2pm at the Novi Civic Center.

The City has partnered with Wild Birds Unlimited Nature Shop of Novi to help you learn about the multiple species of birds. Everyone who participates will get a colorful post of the birds in the area.

Support Novi Parks at new Sedona Taphouse
Sedona Taphouse at Twelve Oaks Mall is celebrating its grand opening on Monday, April 29, with a Charity Night benefiting the Novi Parks Foundation.

The Novi Parks Foundation supports the Novi Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department by providing resources used to assist with capital improvements in the park system, the purchase of parkland and community art, trail development and to enable youth and adults in financial need to participate in recreation programs.

All proceeds from the evening will be donated to the Foundation. Sedona Taphouse is located at 27466 Novi Road, in the former Max & Erma's space.
