Luncheon Lectures Looks at the Saxophone
April 12
11:30am Lunch, 12:00pm Lecture

North Central Michigan College's Luncheon Lecture series will take a look at the amazing saxophone. In 1846, Adolphe Sax patented a musical instrument that was a brassier version of the clarinet. Today, it is a fixture of marching bands, military bands, big bands, jazz bands and, of course, "Bolero". Tom Harder is a saxophone virtuoso and Charlevoix High School's band director. He will tell us about this popular instrument and play some flashy music written to show off its unique attributes.

Reservations are required. Call 231-348-6600 or email luncheonlectures@ncmich.edu to reserve your place at the table. Cost is $12 (cash or check only- at door) and includes lunch.
