Wilmot conquers 2018 Geography Bowl
Two teams from Wilmot took home trophies at the annual Parkside Geography Bowl. The sophomore team from Wilmot compiled a 12-2 record in round robin play, propelling them to the championship match against Racine Case sophomore team. After falling behind early, they lost 110-70 taking home a team runner-up trophy, red ribbons, and $10 Target gift cards.
Team member includes captain Marcus Wolff, Sean O’Dowd, Calvin Fied, and Dawson Schumacher.
The Wilmot Union junior team consisted of captain Jacob Brockway, Elizabeth Lucik, Samantha Christiansen, and Noah Coleman. The defending champions returned to the championship match with a 12-2 record through round-robin play. Avenging an earlier loss, the Wilmot juniors without difficulty defeated their cross-county rivals, Central, 160-40. For their efforts they received blue champion ribbons, $15 Target gift cards, and globe-shaped trophy.
Jarod Edmonds, Ambriel Siggeman, Grady Duffy, and Austin Adam represented Wilmot well with a 7-7 record. Overall the teams from Wilmot posted a 32-12 record, by far the best of any school at the competition.
