MOTHERHOOD
Watching my daughter-in-law grow a human being is magical. Even before we found out Paige was pregnant, the ripples began. Like a drop of water falling into a still mountain lake creating ripples from its impact – reaching well beyond where it initially began – the marriage of Kyle and Paige created positive ripples connecting siblings, parents, grandparents, step-grandparents, great grandparents, friends, community, and beyond.

Recently, I was texted by a man I met while I was in India. He had celebrated his anniversary with his wife and was very happy. They had just had a baby girl - their first - and they were very proud. They chose a beautiful and auspicious name. Indian families, he told me, choose a name based upon numerous qualities (like Vedic astrology called Janm Nakshatra) that connect the name to the baby. I thought about the name Kyle and Paige had chosen for their son. Unbeknownst to them and us, the name they chose means “father of peace” or “source of all life.” John and I think the name chosen is perfect for a soul who will share life with two amazing parents.

What does it mean to be a mother?

Rock Salt Therapy
Salt therapy, popular in Europe for decades, is believed to clear toxins, pollens, viruses and other pollutants from the lungs and nasal passageways, detoxifying the respiratory system. Studies have explored the benefits of salt therapy on conditions like acne, arthritis, sleep difficulties, and weakened immune systems and many believe that regular salt treatments are helpful for allergies, asthma, and other respiratory ailments. The deep relaxation definitely relieves stress and helps calm mind, body, breath and spirit.

Our hearts are once again heavy at the loss of life and the pain of another Colorado school shooting. These events impact everyone around us and often in ways unseen.

Inner Connections Yoga & Wellness, Rock Salt Therapy and CommuniTEA sends healing love and light at this time to the victims, families, teachers, Highlands Ranch, and to our community.

A poem to remind you to share your love and light from your practice with others...

Now you know the worst

By Wendell Berry

To my granddaughters who visited the Holocaust Museum on the day of the burial of Yitzhak Rabin

Now you know the worst
we humans have to know
about ourselves, and I am sorry,

for I know that you will be afraid.
To those of our bodies given
without pity to be burned, I know

there is no answer
but loving one another,
even our enemies, and this is hard.

But remember:
when a man of war becomes a man of peace,
he gives a light, divine

though it is also human.
When a man of peace is killed
by a man of war, he gives a light.

You do not have to walk in darkness.
If you will have the courage for love,
you may walk in light. It will be

the light of those who have suffered
for peace. It will be
your light.
