Participants will take an in-depth look at the impact of sleep or lack of sleep on the life of those they serve. They will consider the causes and contributing factors, identifying those that can be changed and develop plans for addressing them based upon the concepts of high involvement and resident-directed care.

About the presenter
Gloria Blackmon, BSN, RN-BC, DNS-CT | Gloria’s expertise and leadership skills have frequently been called on for leading communities into health, compliance, and stability, with a focus on resident-centered care. She has held Director of Nursing positions since the early 90’s. She led the transition to a Household Model addition of six skilled nursing households. Gloria has also formed her own business, providing legal nurse consultant services to law firms and insurance companies. Her list of publications is long, and she has made presentations to nursing facilities, colleges and professional organizations regarding long term care and risk management.

Continuing education. The National Continuing Education Review Service (NCERS) of the National Association of Boards of Examiners of Long Term Care Administrators (NAB) has approved this program for 6 clock hours.
