CHAPTER HAPPENINGS
Comcast and Cox Communications graciously hosted the NAMIC Board of Directors and NAMIC-Atlanta members earlier this week. The event started with a welcome reception at the Comcast Regional Headquarters at the Battery Atlanta followed by the NAMIC Board of Directors meeting at the Cox Communications Atlanta headquarters. Both spaces p
rovided a stunning backdrop for a wonderful networking event.
NAMIC-Southern California supported a film finance workshop and movie screening of "Boss: The Black Experience In Business" at the Pan African Film Festival. The film explores the untold story of African American entrepreneurship, where skill, industriousness, ingenuity and sheer courage in the face of overwhelming odds provide the backbone of this nation's economic and social growth. It won best documentary and is available now for FREE streaming on PBS.org.

ESPN, NBC Asian American win multiple awards. The awards were announced during a luncheon event at the Multicultural TV Summit in New York -- hosted by Multichannel News and Broadcasting & Cable -- which explores the business of reaching diverse audiences for TV and video.

Major television networks are hitting far more lows than highs in tapping into Asian American talent, according to a study released Wednesday by the Asian Pacific American Media Coalition.
Latifah, Tribeca Studios and Marc Pritchard, Procter and Gamble's chief brand officer, have partnered to birth The Queen Collective (TQC), a program that aims to accelerate gender and racial equality behind the camera by opening doors through mentoring, production support, and creating distribution opportunities for content created by the next generation of multicultural female directors.
