ERIC WIETSTRUCK Secondary Principal |
With the onset of summer, change is in the air. A change in the sleep schedule of our children. A change in our sometimes overwhelming carpool schedule as parents. A change in how students use their time. When my wife and I chose to bring our three children to Northland nine years ago we were looking for a change to help our kids grow. What we found were teachers with a heart for kids, a heart for God, and a willingness to go the extra mile to help them to grow and be excellent in all aspects of their lives.
I am so excited to be the new Secondary Principal of Northland Christian School. I bring a unique perspective of one who is a parent of students here, who has taught here, has coached here, has supported the fine arts here, and who loves this community. I also have been involved in student education my entire adult life including six years as a middle school and high school assistant principal and high school principal in local public schools. With a change in principals at the secondary campus you will see some changes in school discipline and instruction over the next few years with the intent of bringing out the excellence in every student. I have spent the past week meeting individually with every staff member on campus. I hope you share my excitement to have such exemplary educators who love our kids and our Lord. Our fall theme at Northland will be "Where Excellence is Expected." My prayer is that you will join with these educators to expect excellence out of each and every one of our children.
A few items for you to review as we go into the summer...
Report Cards
During this past week, report cards have been carefully reviewed and are now available to view on RenWeb. Please take a moment to review and print the grades for your records. All report cards will be archived and considered part of the student's permanent record as of Wednesday, June 20th. You may login to your ParentsWeb account and click on the Student Information/Report Card tab to see your child's grades. If you have difficulty accessing your child's report card, please contact Cathy Yerian at
[email protected].
Summer Reading
Our summer reading lists and assignments can be found on the Northland website
homepage (find the Secondary Reading button on the homepage with links below to Middle School and High School reading lists) or click below. Please encourage your child to read daily and to look upon their summer reading as a way for them to grow.
