For the past several months, E. Carver Co. Schools has been looking at ways to manage growing

enrollment, aging buildings, budget pressures and academic needs.  Staff have reviewed the hard work of the Facility Task Force, used community surveys and listening sessions to gather public input, and analyzed budget projections. At its May 6 work session, the School Board was presented with some options to consider which  support the district's commitment to exceptional, personalized learning. Read more HERE.  

At this week's school board work session, the district's Teaching and Learning team provided an update on recent parent, student, and staff surveys and focus groups around personalized learning, standards-based learning, standards-based grading, and Empower. The results show strong support among all groups for personalized learning. The parent survey also showed ongoing concern with Empower and practices related to standards-based grading. More details HERE.

Nina Kirkman was named the 2019 Teacher of the Year at the District 112 Foundation Excellence in Education Awards Banquet on April 28. Kirkman teaches 7th grade science at Pioneer Ridge Middle School. Learn more here.

E. Carver Co. Schools continued to post strong graduation rates at its high schools, according to data released in April by the MN Dept. of Education. Across both high schools, the number of graduating seniors rose almost three percent, from 91.7 percent in 2018 to 94.9 percent in 2018. The 2017-2018 statewide graduation rate was 83.2 percent.
