Big Day of Giving 2019
On Thursday, May 2
nd, the Chapter participated in Sacramento’s Big Day of Giving, raising over
$33,000 in support of the Get Smart Equipment Loan Program. We appreciate our donors for raising these critical funds, which will be used to provide technology and equipment that helps those we serve better navigate their world with ALS.

Thank You Sundt!
On May 3
rd
, Sundt Construction hosted the 10
th
Annual Mike Gaines Sacramento Charity Golf Tournament. The tournament raised an incredible
$50,500
to support research programs aimed at finding treatments and a cure for ALS. Sundt’s long history of supporting the ALS community through charity events has resulted in over $2.2 million raised in total for ALS research. We are grateful for Sundt’s philanthropic spirit and their efforts to put an end to ALS.

Ready to Ride to Defeat ALS?
When: September 21st 2019
Where: Yountville Veterans Home Picnic Grounds
The 15th Annual Napa Valley Ride to Defeat ALS is a one-day cycling event designed to appeal to every level of cyclist and supporter of The ALS Association. Every participant can count on support from start to finish with rest stops, SAG (support and gear) vehicles, route monitors, and CHP presence. Upon completing the tour, riders are welcomed back by cheering crowds and finish line festivities that include a live band, a delicious BBQ lunch, and more!

Challenging Youth to Join the Fight

The ALS Association is launching a campaign to engage kids and teenagers in the fight against ALS, issuing the ALS Youth Challenge and celebrating the first-ever ALS Youth Action Day. Our chapters across the country will be partnering with youth organizations in their communities to identify future activists and philanthropists who will help to defeat ALS by accepting the ALS Youth Challenge.

New Jane Calmes ALS Scholarship Fund to Help Students Impacted by ALS Pursue Secondary Education

The ALS Association is launching a new scholarship program that will fund up to $5,000 per year for at least 30 students whose personal or family finances are compromised by the financial burden of ALS. The scholarships apply to students seeking college degrees or vocational certificates.
