Libraries Rock!  Summer Reading Programs

KIDS:
Early sign up June 11-13 earns each child a free book at the time of sign up!  The summer reading program is a great way to encourage reading over the summer!  At registration, kids receive a reading log and keep track of either number of minutes or pages read.  All kids who read 600 pages or 900 minutes by August 1 will receive a free book and special certificate on August 3rd.  READING LOGS DUE AUGUST 1ST.

TEENS:
Starting June 11th, teens can sign up online this year!  There will be goals and challenges to earn fun prizes!

ADULTS:
Come in starting June 11th and fill out recommendation slips for a chance to win great prizes!  
Storytimes and Reading Events for Big Kids AND Little Kids

Libraries Rock Storytime - Ages 4 and Under / Thursdays / 10:15
Kids will enjoy stories, crafts, songs, and making friends!
Meets June 21, 28, July 12, 19, 26

Tinker Tunes Advanced - Ages 5-8 / Thursdays / 11:30
Kids will make simple musical instrument crafts each week, listen to and play along with musical recordings and hear stories about the fun instruments they make.

PJ Storytime - All Ages / Wed, June 27 only / 7:00
Get the kids in jammies and come to the library to hear a soothing story before bedtime!

Book Out Loud - Grades 1-3 / Monday, June 25 only / 10:15
Short story read out loud with activities, crafts, games and fun!  GREAT FOR RELUCTANT READERS.  Counts toward Summer Reading pages/minutes.

Jr. Book Club - Grades 4-6 / Wednesdays / 1:00 - 2:00
We'll be reading "The Magic Misfits" out loud together as a group.  Fun magic trick at the end of each session.   Counts toward Summer Reading pages/time.  GREAT FOR RELUCTANT READERS!  Those who complete the book with the group will earn a special certificate.

Reading to Reno and Friends - All Ages
Create a positive reading experience for your kids by signing them up to read to a real therapy dog!  Mondays, June 18, 25 and Tuesdays, July 10, 17, 31 / 10:15 - 11:30.  Sessions are 10 minutes.  Great for reluctant readers or special needs kids!

Teen Vinyl Record Craft

Ages Middle - High School
We're going to melt records and mold them into cool bowls!  Snacks provided!  Bring your friends to this free event.  Register by calling 248-846-6550

Elvis Presley Rock-A-Hula Party / Tuesday, June 19 / 1:00
Clarkston's premier Elvis impersonator, Ron Short is sure to entertain at this fun, musical, all ages event.  Elvis costume contest!  Hawaiian shirts encouraged but not required!  No cost.  No registration necessary.  

Puzzle Competition / Saturday, June 23 / 12:30
Get a group of around 3-6 people together for a fun afternoon of jigsaw puzzling!  Every group will get the same (or similar) puzzle and we'll see who gets done first.  Winning group gets a fun prize.  One person in the group must register with the library.

Solid Gold Magic Show / Tuesday, June 26 / 1:00
Fun for all ages!  Be dazzled by the high energy magic of Jeff Wawrzaszek.  All students attending will receive a magic trick to keep.  No registration necessary.

Holly MS Jazz Band / Thursday, June 28 / 6:30
Come enjoy a musical performance from these talented middle school students.  No registration necessary.  No cost.
Classic Movie Matinee - Last Friday of Every Month / 11:00AM

Come to the library and watch a classic movie from Hollywood's golden era on our big screen once a month.  Fresh popped popcorn and water will be served.  NO COST

Daytime Book Club
Join us for this fun and informal book club!  We meet the 4th Thursday of the month at 1:00. Pick up the book from the checkout desk, read it, and come share your impression.
