Protect yourself against fraud, financial crimes
Scammers are spoofing phone numbers to pretend to be someone else
Scammers are relentless and constantly changing to try to dupe us into believing them.

In this episode of Behind the Badge, Director of Public Safety/Chief of Police David Molloy and Det. Jeremy Stempien sit down to talk phone scams, ATM skimmers and how to safely buy and sell items from the Internet.

Final stretch of ITC Trail nears completion
Trail spans 4 miles, from Ascension Hospital to ITC Community Sports Park
Lace up those running shoes and put air in those bike tires. The ITC Trail will officially be open for use after Labor Day as the contractor is waiting on cure on a couple areas before they can back fill.

Crews have been hard at work on the final segment of the trail from Nine to 10 Mile roads, including installing 2,000 feet of boardwalk. Flashing beacons also are being installed along with a crosswalk to get pedestrians over 10 Mile Road safely.

The completed trail spans four miles, from Ascension Providence Hospital to ITC Community Sports Park. To learn more about the trail, visit cityofnovi.org.
Trash pickup delayed by one day for Labor Day
City offices closed Monday, Novi Public Library closed Saturday-Monday
City of Novi offices will be closed on Monday for the Labor Day holiday. This also means trash service is delayed by one day with Monday being picked up on Tuesday and so on throughout the week.

The Novi Public Library is closed for the entire weekend, Saturday to Monday.
Pancake breakfast to support Novi Ed Foundation
Annual event takes place Saturday, Sept. 14 from 8-11am at Novi High
Fill up on pancakes while supporting the Novi Educational Foundation at its annual All-You-Can-Eat Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 8-11am at Novi High School.

Tickets are $7 if purchased before Sept. 6 or $9 at the door. Guinness World Record Holder and Food Network star Chris Cakes of Michigan will be manning the griddle. Breakfast includes: pancakes, sausage, fruit, orange drink and coffee.
