Investors Round table with Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs, Government of India, Mr. Arun Jaitley


An investors Round table with Hon'ble Finance Minister Mr. Arun Jaitley and Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Mr. Subhash Chandra Garg was organized by CII and USIBC in association with the Consulate at the NASDAQ Market Site on. The key focus of the session was India’s reforms and economic outlook. Infrastructure development was discussed to be the key priority for Government of India with investment opportunities in the second and third tier cities.

i) An interactive session with the Hon’ble Finance Minister and investors in the financial sector was jointly organized by the Consulate in partnership with FICCI and USISPF on April 10, 2019 at Hotel Taj Pierre.
 
ii) A closed door Foreign Portfolio Investor (FPI) Roundtable discussion with Mr. Subhash Chandra Garg, Finance Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, was organized by USIBC in partnership with the Consulate at its premises on April 10, 2019. Dr. Krishnamurthy Subramanian, Chief Economic Advisor, Ministry of Finance also addressed the group.

A Seminar on India-US Business Relations at the Consulate


A delegation from Indian Chamber of Commerce, Kolkata visited the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and the MasterCard Technology Hub where they were briefed about new innovations in financial technologies. They were also hosted by United States-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) and law firm of White & Williams. A seminar on US-India Business Relations was organized by the Consulate General of India, New York. The keynote address was given by Dr. Arvind Panagariya, Professor of Indian Political Economy, Columbia University. Mr. Rudra Chatterjee, President, Indian Chamber of Commerce and Mr. Sumit Ganguli, CEO, GAVS Technologies Inc. also addressed the gathering.

New India Lecture Series – Season II

The New India Lecture Series – Season II in partnership with US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) and State Bank of India (SBI) featuring conversation with Ms Indra Nooyi which was moderated by Prof. Saikat Chaudhuri, Executive Director, Mack Institute for Innovation Management, The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania was held in the Consulate on March 28, 2019. Ms Indra Nooyi held everyone spell bound with her Mantra for success- hard work, genuineness, honesty & strong family support. The lecture was attended by around 150 people.

Council of Indian Organizations in Greater Philadelphia organises meeting on India-US Business relations

Council of Indian Organizations in Greater Philadelphia organised a meeting of the Indian American community leaders as well as political representatives business leaders of the Greater Philadelphia region. The Consul General addressed the gathering about the vibrant bilateral trade relationship between India and the US. Representatives of iPin member, ICICI bank and other business leaders also addressed the gathering. Consul General also met Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick and thanked him for his enormous support to India-US bilateral relations.
