Mayor seeks candidates for Ward 2 Aldermanic Seat

Mayor Morley is accepting applications to fill the City’s 2nd Ward Aldermanic Seat. Alderman Norman Leader recently resigned from office due to a change in residency.

Mayor Morley stated, “Alderman Leader has been serving the residents of Elmhurst as 2nd Ward Alderman for 16 years. We are thankful for his dedication to our community and wish him the very best in his future."

With the advice and consent of the Elmhurst City Council, Mayor Morley will appoint a replacement to the 2nd Ward aldermanic seat. This person will serve as 2nd Ward Alderman until the April 2021 election.

To be considered for this appointment, please complete an official application. Resumes and/or letters of intent are also encouraged to be included with the application. Dye Testing of Salt Creek
The City of Elmhurst will be performing a dye-tracing study in Salt Creek near the Water Reclamation Facility, between St. Charles Road and Butterfield Road, on September 21. This will involve releasing non-toxic colored dye into the waterway, which will propagate downstream and eventually dissipate. The dye that will be used is harmless and will not cause ecological damage to plant or animal life within or near Salt Creek. The study will be used to better understand the creek’s mixing conditions near the Water Reclamation Facility.
Elmhurst Fire Department Warns Community of Email Scam Alert
The Elmhurst Fire Department would like the community to be aware of an email that notifies the recipient that a "fire inspection is required and threatens civil violations and fines for failing to respond. The email appears to be from "Nfpa.org", but the NFPA does not conduct inspections or levy fines. The Elmhurst Fire Department asks the community to take caution if they receive an email of this nature. If you have any question, please contact the Elmhurst Fire Department at (630) 530-3090.
Elmhurst Police Department Forum- Sep. 29th
Please join the Elmhurst Police Department for a forum on September 29th from 6-7:30pm, live on ElmhurstTV YouTube Page. Topics will include an overview on the department's operations, hiring, training and recruitment process, community engagement and policing efforts.
