PTA Highlights
Dear Parents,

Next week is Riverside School's Fruit and Veggie Challenge week to encourage healthy eating in a fun way.  Details are below.

Also note that the Riverside Garden Committee is collecting empty plastic milk, juice, and water jugs for some fun seed planting activities.  A bin to drop-off your recycled jug will be in the front hall of school this week.

Also two important deadline reminders for next week are:
  • Mar 7: Deadline to submit a nomination for Distinguished Teacher
  • Mar 8: Deadline to sign up for STEM Fair which will take place on April 9-10 (go to RIVPTA.ORG for more details)

Finally, we are working with GHS Senior Chase Freiheit, to support the Youth Equipment Sharing Club (Y.E.S.) in their annual used sports equipment collection drive.  Over the next 3 weeks, they will have a bin at the front of school to collect used sports equipment which will then be donated to programs that allow underprivileged athletes to compete.

Have a great weekend!

fruits & veggies
we will not be distributing hard copies in Friday Folders this year). Each child that submits a completed chart will be entered into a school-wide raffle to win a prize.

The Wellness Committee will not be serving "tastings" during school lunch. We encourage parents who pack lunches to include fruits and vegetables that match the color of the day. The cafeteria will also be serving coordinating colored fruits and veggies so that those who buy school lunch can also participate. A prize of extra recess will be awarded to the grades with the best participation in this part of the week-long event.

Please look out for additional communications about the Challenge over the next week. If you have any questions, contact the Wellness Committee .
