It's Summer Reading Time!
Libraries throughout Pinal County will be hosting their Summer Reading Programs again this year. Kids, Teens and Adults can sign up to keep track of their reading, and may earn rewards for the amount of reading they do! Contact your local library for details about program eligibility. Also, keep an eye out for special Summer Reading events at libraries in your area. (We'll cover a few in this month's Featured Events section, too!)
Please note that different libraries in Pinal County launch their Summer Reading Program on different dates.

Come to the Library this summer to meet Wildman Phil and learn all about our wildlife neighbors. This very entertaining and informative live animal show features spiders, scorpions, lizards, and snakes and highlights the unique characteristics of these creatures, their homes, and the ways the lives of these vastly different animals are interwoven, creating a community where each has a purpose and a place. Registration is not required, but space is limited.

Didgeridoo Down Under is a high-energy, Australia themed show that combines music, culture, puppetry, comedy, storytelling, and audience participation! The didgeridoo, usually a hollow tree trunk, has been played by Aboriginal Australians for at least 1,500 years, and is known for its otherworldly sound. But this program is much more than music—It’s interactive, educational, motivational and super fun – perfect for all ages. Contact the Florence Community Library for more information.

Lip-Sync Battle

Rock out in the library this summer during our Lip Sync Battle on Thursday, June 21 at 4:00 p.m. All ages are invited to find out who is the best lip sync-er. Registration is not required. Please call the Coolidge Library for more information, or email  library@coolidgeaz.com  with questions.
Hula With Moana

Research Spotlight
Our libraries are fun places with a lot of entertainment to offer, but we also provide great research tools. We offer subscription research databases that you can access for free with your library card.
This month's feature database:
TumbleBook Library

TumbleBook Library is an online collection of animated and narrated picture books and chapter books, with highlighted text so children can follow along. The collection includes popular children's titles, plus nonfiction books, graphic novels, and even foreign language titles (most of which also have English counterparts). The materials in TumbleBook Library are suitable for readers in grades K – 6. You can find TumbleBook Library and our other online databases on our website, by clicking the Research tab.
