Triennial Meeting 2018 e-Communiqué #2:
Workshop Sign-Ups
May 31, 2018

The workshops to be offered in Austin, Texas at the 49th Triennial Meeting of the Episcopal Church Women will build on the Five Marks of Mission:
  • To proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom
  • To teach, baptize and nurture new believers
  • To respond to human need by loving service
  • To seek to transform unjust structures of society
  • To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and sustain and renew the life of the earth
The National Board of Episcopal Church Women has set this theme because we know a good thing when we see it. Though the Marks, developed by the Anglican Consultative Council and later adopted by the General Convention, have been around for a while, time has not dimmed the valuable framework they offer for mission and ministry work.

The workshops will offer new or renewed ways of looking at mission. They are about GO!ing out into the world - about evangelism, which, as Presiding Bishop Michael Curry has said, matters because:

"None of us would be here if someone didn't evangelize."
"It is not about building a bigger church, it's about building a better world."
"The way of Jesus is the way of life. The way of Jesus is liberating, is life-giving, is loving."

In a Triennial Meeting first, we are offering online sign-ups for workshops (though a paper-based sign-up option is still available). Information about both is available on our website.
