It is with great sadness and thanksgiving for her life, that we share that Rev. Dr. Ilene Dunn (HR) died on Saturday, May 4th. 

We shall all miss Ilene and her commitment not only to Mission Presbytery, but to the church universal and the world. 

Our prayers of comfort go out to her family, dear friends, and all who were touched, inspired and challenged by this amazing child of God.

The service will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 3:00 p.m.

Kai Szucs, grandson of Barbara Morris-Blake, graduating from high school and is going to study computer programming in university in Ontario

Ebony Edmondson, mentee of and family to Jeff Heckler and Barbara Morris-Blake, from the Dream Come True Foundation, graduating from ACC Nursing School 

Jaqwuan Pitts and Javuon Pitts, twin grandsons of Bessie Gathers, graduating from Cedar Ridge High School and going on to Blinn College

Katie and Annie Scroggs, Mia’s twins and granddaughters of Susan and George Sanders, are graduating from Bowie High School. Katie has been accepted into the 6-year pharmacy program at the University of Rhode Island, and Annie will be entering the Liberal Arts Honors program at the University of Texas
 
Andrew Sanders, Jeff’s son, grandson of Susan and George Sanders, is graduating from Midway High School in Waco, and will attend Baylor University
 
Jasmin Blue, daughter of Jacki Blue and who grew up in our church, is graduating from St. Edwards University and going on to graduate school
 
Jennifer Hallberg, our intern extraordinaire at Faith Presbyterian, graduating from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary
Drive-A-Senior, S. Austin : Can you spare a little time to drive a senior to a medical appointment, the grocery store or pharmacy, the library or post office, or wherever they need to go? Giving up driving is such a hard thing to do, and you can help keep these seniors living in their own homes get out and not be so isolated. Here is some contact information: 512 445-5552  sa@driveasenior.org   or www.driveaseniorsouthaustin.org or talk with Martha Loer. A few years back, Faith had several volunteers, but most have “aged out” of driving others. If you need help with transportation, you can make these same contacts. 
Faith Internal Team: If you are interested in Worship, Christian Education, Congregational Care or Hospitality then this is team for you! We will be holding our monthly meetings every 2nd Wednesday of the month at 4:45p. Our next meeting is Wednesday, June 12th at 4:45 in the Sanctuary.

Women’s Circle: This Tuesday, May 14 th is the date and 9:30 is the time. All women are invited to gather in the Parlor at 9:30 for refreshments (any volunteers?), friendship, and Bible study, this time, Lesson 8 – God With Us As the Holy Spirit in the Bible study book,  God’s Promise – I Am With You  by Amy Poling Sutherlun. Scripture is John 14:1-31. Don't worry if you don't have the book or haven’t read the lesson in advance, just come and you'll be welcome.   
Faith Book Group  meets on the second Tuesday of each month in the parlor at 7:00.   ALL interested readers are invited to join us!  Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, May 14th.
