GGUSD Named California Honor Roll District for 2nd Year in a Row
GGUSD was one of 26 school districts to be named a California Honor Roll District and 42 of our schools were named 2018-2019 California Honor Roll Schools. GGUSD had more schools on the list than any school district in Orange County and had the highest percentage of schools on the list among comparable districts statewide. #GGUSDPride   #ChooseGGUSD

GGUSD's 50th annual Special Games brings out the best in students as more than 1,100 general education and special education students come together for a fun day of Olympic-style competitions at the Michael A. Monsoor Memorial Stadium at Garden Grove High School. Watch our video for the highlights!
Jordan Intermediate Dance Team Takes First Place 🥇
Jordan Intermediate’s intramural dance team known as JDC brought home a Gold Medal First Place Award in the Hip Hop Division at the Showstopper dance competition in Anaheim. Not only was this JDC’s first prestigious dance competition, but this was also the team’s first time being awarded a full scholarship to compete among other teams in the county. Led by their GGUSD home-grown coach, Dorothy Ho of Charade Dance, these young dancers committed endless hours of their time and effort to this pursuit. With dedication and grit, these dancers learned that nothing is impossible!  #GGUSDpride
GGUSD Hosts Summer Resources Fair
The Summer Resources Fair was hosted on Monday at Garden Grove High School and drew a packed house! Families enjoyed a variety of student performances and learned about fun programs and resources to keep students engaged in learning over the summer. Representatives from various groups in attendance included local libraries, summer camps, museums, sports and dance groups, and much more.  #GGUSDPride
Patton Receives $25,000 Check for New Technology
California State Treasurer Fiona Ma recently visited Patton Elementary School to present the school with a $25,000 check for new technology. After the check presentation, Treasurer Ma joined with the school’s staff and students to duct tape Principal Jennifer Carter and Assistant Principal Julie Kawai to the wall. Patton was one of only three schools across California to receive an over-sized check for $25,000 as part of the Treasurer’s 2019 Scholar Dollar Program. The school-wide duct-taping event was promised to students for winning the competition. Scholar Dollar Program winners are selected based off the number of online votes they receive. Patton received an impressive 14,512 votes!
Free Eyeglasses 👓 for Preschoolers
More than 100 preschool students received free eye glasses this year thanks to our partnership with the UCI Vision Bus program. Thanks to UCI for providing this much-needed service to our students.

Santiago High School Celebrates Its Seniors 🎉
Santiago High School held an awards night honoring many of its accomplished seniors. Students received awards, seals, and scholarships sponsored by many of GGUSD community partners. Congratulations to all of the amazing Cavaliers who were recognized!  #GGUSDpride

Registration is Open for Preschool
Registration is now open for Garden Grove Unified School District’s high quality preschool programs. Enroll today for the 2019-2020 school year for one of the following preschool programs:

 
  • Brand new affordable full-day preschool at the Skylark Campus (offered at 11250 Mac Murray St., Garden Grove)
 
The new Skylark fee-based Preschool will have highly-trained credentialed teachers who provide students with a warm and caring preschool experience. The preschool will offer enrichment activities in dual language, technology, science, engineering, arts, math, and more. The full-day, fee-based program will provide the same exceptional educational curriculum offered in our half-day state preschool program, with opportunities for before and after school care. 
 
Children born between 12/3/2014 and 12/1/2016 are age eligible for our program. Space is limited for our 3-year-old classes for students born between 12/3/2015 and 09/1/2016.
