SummerQuest Reading Program

Cambria County Library invites you and your family to participate in our 2018 SummerQuest Reading Program: Libraries Rock! All programs and offerings are FREE and designed to encourage reading and learning achievement among children of all abilities. 

Register starting June 4th online at www.cclsys.org or by filling out a print registration form in the Children's Department at the library, then stop by our SummerQuest Kick-Off Party on Friday, June 15th from 5:30-7:30 pm to pick up your complimentary SummerQuest "swag bag" containing your print reading and activity log. Start tracking your progress and come back to the library for programs, prizes, and our SummerQuest End Celebration on Tuesday, July 24th from 10:00 am-1:00 pm.

SummerQuest Kick-Off Party
with Adam Swartz Puppets

Friday, June 15th 
5:30-7:30 pm, Puppet Show at 6:00 pm

Enjoy Alice and Jimmy's Epic Rock Dream puppet show with Adam Swartz Puppets, sign up for the SummerQuest program, and receive your reading and activity log for the summer. We'll also have other fun activities for kids and light refreshments provided. Children of all ages are welcome at this free community event!

Stuffed Animal Sleepover Storytime

Monday, June 11th
6:00-6:30 pm

Bring a stuffed animal with you to enjoy stories, songs, rhymes, and fun with Ms. Leah on Monday evening, then come back on Tuesday to learn about your stuffed animal's sleepover adventures! This program is recommended for children ages 2-8 years old.
The Wonderful World of Bats
with Jerry Schneider

Thursday, June 14th
10:00-11:00 am

Move beyond old stereotypes to an understanding of the importance of bats for farmers, fruit growers, the rain forest, and us. We will learn about bats in our attics, vampire bats, bat eyesight, echolocation, migration and hibernation. At the end, create your own tee shirt using a combination of fabric dye sprays, and bat cut outs. You can bring your own white tee  shirt or buy one for $4. This free event is open to children and adults of all ages!
Tales with Tails

Monday, June 18th and 
Monday, July 16th
1:00-2:00 pm


Tales with Tails is a literacy initiative that encourages children of all abilities to read stories to therapy dogs who love to listen. Sign up for a 15-minute slot to hang out and read to one of our AKC Canine Good Citizens at the library. Walk-ins are also welcome, provided that space is available. This program is recommended for children ages 5 and up.


Summer Lunches @ the Library

Monday through Friday starting June 18th 
12:00 noon-1:00 pm

Children under 18 years old are invited to stop by for FREE lunch in the Storytime Theater through the Summer Food Service Program. No paperwork required!
LEGO Club

Tuesdays, June 19th, 26th, July 3rd, 10th and 17th
1:00-2:00 pm

Bring your mad LEGO skills to the library and let your imagination flow. Each time, we'll build a new structure to put on display. This program is recommended for children ages 5-11 years old.


STEAM Club

Fridays, June 22nd and 29th, July 6th, 13th, and 20th
11:00-11:45 am

Robots, games, experiments, and fun! Come play and enjoy different STEAM gadgets, toys, and activities each week. This program is recommended for children ages 4-8 years old.
