Honors and PEGS Student Named as Outstanding Graduating Biology Student
David Axford will graduate in May 2018 with an undergraduate degree in Biology with a concentration in Molecular and Cellular Biology and a minor in Anthropology. He has been named as the Outstanding Graduating Student for Biology in the College of Science and Mathematics. This award is given to a student with outstanding academic achievements who also contributes to research, participates in community service, and displays excellent leadership skills.
David has been accepted to Auburn University's Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he will begin his coursework in July 2018. He also received a scholarship from the US Navy's Healthcare Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP). This scholarship will cover his tuition, fees, and books, and a stipend for living while he is in medical school.
David is graduating as an Honors Scholar who also participated in the President's Emerging Global Scholars (PEGS) program within the Honors College at Kennesaw State University. After attending medical school at Auburn, David plans to serve as a physician in the United States Navy.
