August recovery period at Georgian College
Welcome Back to our Students!

Our team hopes that you and your family have found innovative ways to enjoy the summer during these unusual times of social distancing.

August has seen some increased activity at all of Georgian’s seven campuses, as we welcomed a small group of students back to complete their practical learning components. These student were enrolled in winter or summer 2020 programs and still required in-person lab or skilled trade learning in order to fulfill their course requirements to advance in their program or graduate. As always, at Georgian the health and safety of our community is our top priority. We have strict protocols in place for all persons returning to campus, including students and any staff or faculty required to support in-class learning.

Our fall semester plan is to deliver courses remotely wherever possible, and only deliver in-person where a hands-on learning component is required.

A reminder that the Conference and Event Services team is here to assist you with hosting your virtual events, until in person events on campus can safely resume in accordance with public health direction. We still hope to be able to welcome our clients back on campus for in-person events beginning in January 2021. Whether in person or online, our team of professionals are here to serve and assist you in executing a seamless event from start to finish.

What's cookin' with The Last Class (free recipe)
The Last Class (also known as TLC) at Georgian is one of our favourite food service locations on campus.

Restricted campus operations due to COVID-19 required the temporary closure of TLC. We certainly miss the TLC’s delicious food and culinary creativity and we’re sharing a favourite TLC Summer salad recipe with our readers. Click here for the recipe and preparation steps.
More about TLC:
TLC has exclusive catering rights for our athletic centre and Georgian Dining Room, as well as any licensed events on campus.

The Last Class is owned and operated by the Georgian College Students’ Association (GCSA) and regularly employs more than 175 Georgian students at the Barrie Campus. Revenue generated from their catering operations helps to support clubs and services supported by the GCSA, and is invested back in to facilities such as our restaurants (TLC, TFC) and athletic centre.
Want to see what other great things come out of TLC's kitchen? Find their full catering menu here.
