Mr. B’s very demanding doctor admonished him for having a cookie diet. Cookies and coffee during the day and cookies with a side salad for dinner. Then a late-night cookie snack. Mr. B succumbed and instead, one mid-afternoon, lumbered over (cookies in coat pocket) to the

at the

. Just in time for an afternoon delight. Mr. B couldn’t choose between the Texas Pecan Rocky Road Bread Pudding; the Home-Grown Lavender Crème Brulee; the Fort Worth Tower Cheesecake with bourbon caramel, candied pecans and whipped cream; the Dr Pepper Chocolate Cake; or the Caramel Apple Torte with short dough crust, blueberries, TX Bourbon caramel and whipped cream. So he ordered them all, for less than $50. You can, too, with this $50 gift card to Cast Iron heaven.

Rockin’ the ride:

Ride No. 1 was a success. B raced .2 miles in 10 minutes. After a month, he is doing 1.5 miles an hour. He’s down to 17 cookies a day.

World premiere:
University Christian Church and its superb Chancel Choir have put together a night of music March 17 that is highlighted by the
world premiere of renowned composer Ola Gjeilo's "The Tyger & The Lamb."
Alive At The Bass: A Musical Epiphany
showcases “
The Tyger & The Lamb,” commissioned by UCC as a gift to Fort Worth, with a 140-voice festival choir, strings, piano and harp under the direction of UCC’s Reverend Dr. Todd Prickett. The 90-minute concert at
Bass Performance Hall
also will include George Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue,” performed by Fort Worth pianist Janet Pummill with a full orchestra. Other highlights are performances by soprano Amy Prickett and pianist Amy Stewart, majestic hymn arrangements and favorite Irish melodies in honor of St Patrick’s Day.

Executive Vice President of Marketing Miserly Mistress’ last day after 30 years is April 7. Her greatest accomplishment came after the March 2000 tornado. She was instrumental in the outlandishly brilliant “No Gusts, No Glory” rebuild campaign. If you’re wondering how she possibly could retire at 52, Miserly, before the Chamber had accounting and events departments, raised more than $1 million in sponsorships. Just sayin’.
