“Ask the Expert” Corner – Richard Argentieri, Vice President of Sales at Independent Health

Q: How do I know if a medical service was applied to my plan deductible?

Upon the claim being processed, an explanation of benefits statement is generally issued by the health insurer to let the member know the amount that was applied to his or her deductible.

In addition, at Independent Health, we provide our members with access to an online deductible tracker, which gives them an instant snapshot of how much they have paid toward their deductible. Our members can use the deductible tracker by either logging in to their personal online account at www.independenthealth.co m or downloading our free MyIH mobile app onto their smartphone.
