LAKES REPRESENTED ON THE TOWN OF ST. GERMAIN LAKES COMMITTEE
(A special committee of the St. Germain Town Board)
TOWN CONTRIBUTES FUNDING TO UPDATING LAKE MANAGEMENT PLANS

Each of the five lake organizations comprising the St. Germain Town Lakes Committee is currently at some stage of updating its Comprehensive Lake Management Plan. These multi-year projects employ a team of lake specialists from Onterra LLC to accomplish a series of lake assessments and stakeholder surveys from which the Lake Management Plans are updated. The projects are two-thirds funded by WDNR grants with the remaining one-third the responsibility of the sponsoring lake organization.

The St. Germain Town Board recently allocated $25,000 from Room Tax revenues to assist the Lakes Committee and participating lake organizations with their many projects. From that contribution, each of the five lake organizations has been provided $4,400.00 to help offset the local cost share of updating and implementing lake management plans.

The Lakes Committee applauds the Town Board for understanding that good lake management through appropriate protection and preservation methods are important to the town's economic foundation and worthy of Town financial support.
