T
he Church without Walls Volunteers Chestnut Level Presbyterian Church at Camp Donegal www.campdonegal.org
Volunteers organized by Peggy Osborne and inspired by the Rev. John Hartman, the newly installed pastor at Chestnut Level Presbyterian Church, participated in the service "Church without Walls" on Sunday April 29. The idea was that following the church service, folks would go out into the community and provide service to local organizations for several hours. Camp Donegal in Airville, PA was chosen and volunteers from CLPC completed 7 missions for the camp which included land clearing to collecting beads and supplies for a separate Guatemala mission sponsored by the Presbytery of Donegal. Special thanks to Jillian & Pat Pontz, Dale Dissinger, Kurt & Lisa Wagner, Norman Tipton, Roger Josephian, Larry Myers and Robert Pontz. This group saved the camp over $540 in labor charges and also collected over $200 in supplies for the Guatemala Mission Group.

Nurturing African Violets
Wednesday, May 9 at 12pm Wayside Presbyterian Church, Landisville, PA www.waysidepc.org
Our guest this month is Marie Glass, a member of Wayside, who will share her own experiences in Nurturing African Violets. Marie began nurturing African violets with a group of friends when there were few organizations doing so. She will also answer any questions about flowers and gardening.
Marie, a retired Pequea Valley art teacher, now fills her time tending her more than 500 African Violets. Most recently, due to a trip to Russia, Marie has become interested in Russian Hybrid violets with their large blooms. She started those violets from just one leaf she received from a violet specialist in Russia.
Our Senior group meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 12 noon over a brown bag lunch in Wayside's church Atrium to hear invited speakers on various topics. We will provide the beverages. While we focus on the interest of senior adults, we have no age limit and persons of all ages are welcome at these meetings!
