George Augustus Henry Sala (1828-1895) was an author and journalist who wrote extensively for the Illustrated London News as G. A. S. and was most famous for his articles and leaders for The Daily Telegraph. He founded his own periodical, Sala's Journal, and the Savage Club. The former was unsuccessful but the latter still continues. Sala was one of the most influential British journalists of the nineteenth-century.

Painted by Robert Gibb, R.S.A., and signed and dated (1886) in the plate by the artist. Issued and stated as  "Supplement to the Montreal Family Herald and Weekly Star"; printed by "Black and White". Attached to the rear of the frame is a statement from the conservator engaged to restore this work. Considered poor condition however would be quite attractive framed with imperfections minimized in the framed setting.

COMPLETE ORIGINAL War of 1812 NEWSPAPER, the Boston Weekly Messenger (MA) dated Nov 5, 1813.
Prominent front page headline: "Official particulars of GENERAL (William Henry) HARRISON'S VICTORY"  and four columns of front page detailed reports of the War of 1812 BATTLE of the THAMES (Battle of Moraviantown). Proably the best period newspaper on the Battle of the Thames. The famed Indian Chief TECUMSEH was killed in this battle. 

This report does not specifically mention the death of TECUMSEH; however, this famous Indian Chief was killed in this battle. There is also a back page, 1/2 column British official report and perspective on the Battle of the Thames dated Montreal Oct.18, 1813.
