IvyNotes: The week of May 6th
A weekly look ahead with dates and event details to help keep you informed.

A Note from Susan Holt

Congratulations to Justin S., an Ivymount SEC/MLN student who attends The Thomas Edison School of Technology's morning automotive program. Justin received a Teacher Award for his hard work in the Foundations of Automotive Technology class at a ceremony last week.

An enormous thank you to our amazing art teacher Kim Prati for hosting "Celebrating Ivymount Art."  This year, our annual art showcase included over 300 gorgeous pieces of our students' creations.  The APR was full of colorful works of art and all of our visitors really enjoyed themselves.
Thanks to all of the families and Friends of Ivymount for joining us to tour our art exhibit. And thanks also to our Post High School student docents for their fabulous tours! (See photo recap below.)

To help capture the event, we created a 20" x 24" glossy poster with several of the pieces featured in the exhibit.

Posters are available for purchase for $20. Email [email protected]

Last call to register for this Tuesday's Spring Speaker Series led by Ivymount's Amy Alvord and Sharon Nickolaus. (See details and registration link below.)

If you're interested in attending the MLN Elementary School and Middle School Science Fair, it will be held this Thursday  from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

Reminder to our MAP families; this Friday is our annual MAP Grandparents and Special Friends Day. Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m. and festivities wrap up with a lunch from 11:30 to noon.

Thanks to all for making Ivymount an exceptional place for exceptional people. Hope you have a good week.

Thanks to all who have made generous contributions, signed up to send items, and will volunteer their time for our Annual Staff Appreciation Luncheon scheduled for this Wednesday.

This is a school-wide event and we will serve approximately 275 staff members! Even with the wonderful support we have received, we still need additional drink and dessert donations.

Also, it is not too late to make a monetary donation towards the lunch. Checks can be made out to "Ivymount PTA" and sent in via backpacks.  We appreciate your time and donations!

Ivy Barkery, a student-run business, makes and sells amazing dog biscuits.
