Summer Reading
in preparation for the 2019-20 school year

Students entering the grades below are expected to have completed the summer reading book by the first day of school. Activities and grades will be given at the start of school based on the novels and books listed below.

1st grade: Incoming first graders should read or be read 5 books of their choice. Students will choose one of the 5 books to complete the book report provided to be turned in on the first day of school. Students should list the names of the 4 other books read on the back of the book report.
2nd grade: The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein
3rd grade: A Bad Case of Stripes by David Shannon
4th grade: Skinnybones by Barbara Park
5th grade: The Sisters Grimm Fairy Tale Detectives by Michael Buckley
6th grade: Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson.
7th grade: Sophia's War by Avi
