NOVEMBER 2020
Dear Friends,

BOO! Yes, it is still 2020! But we are happy to report some of the things going on in the seashore with all of our safety in mind. The second Artist-in-Residence featuring Dr. Nathan Wolek, Stetson University, will be doing some significant work at the Soundscape Field Station and the Friends are working on some great projects.

We will have a different sort of Holiday Open House at Eldora this year, but we invite you to join us for some good old-fashioned Christmas décor and some friendly conversation. We will have the house open with safety protocols in mind for the visitors and staff.
See you at the beach!
See you at the beach!

DID YOU KNOW?
Turtle vs Tortoise
In Florida, we have tons of turtle species. Some are marine turtles (our favorite), some live in fresh water and some are strictly terrestrial, like the Florida Gopher Tortoise. Gopher Tortoise’s do live in beach dune habitats but are not able to swim and should not be placed into the ocean.

If you are ever concerned about a turtle on the beach, don’t hesitate to call the Florida Fish and Wildlife Hotline 1-888-404-3922(FWCC)
REPORT VIOLATIONS
If you suspect a fish, wildlife, boating, or environmental law violation, report it to the FWC's Wildlife Alert Reward Program: 888-404-FWCC (3922).
