A Message from the Executive Director
This spring I had the pleasure of leading an Uplift In-School Grief Group. It’s been a few years since I’ve done so, and I was in awe once again as I witnessed students bravely open up about their losses, feelings, and emotions.

Being part of a safe space where children come together to share, connect, and realize they’re not alone brings home the important work Uplift’s clinicians do every day. I still smile thinking about 9-year old Tyler, who, during our 8-week session, transformed from introverted and silent to an engaged leader in group activities. I was heartened by the comfort and trust Tyler, and the other students, found within the group.

The voice that Tyler found to express himself in grief group is thanks to you. Thank you for supporting our work and for helping grieving children find strength and knowledge as they work through their grief. Thank you for being a part of our Uplifting mission.

With sincere gratitude,
Sharing Uplift's Message
Uplift is honored to have been selected as Zack Bohner’s Social Cause for his 8th grade English Language Arts class project – a project for which Zack won his classroom award! Zack presented in front of his 8th grade classmates, teachers, and parents.

Uplift's mission is close to Zack’s heart – his birth mother, Denise, died when Zack was 2 years old. Zack’s father, Steve Bohner, was Uplift’s Fall Fest Honoree in 2014 and currently serves as a Board member, and Zack’s mother, Cindy, is a dedicated supporter, as well.

We thank Zack for choosing Uplift and for sharing our work with his school community.
Beer Bonding at Evil Genius
Uplift is excited to be partnering with Evil Genius Beer Company for a summertime treat on Thursday, July 18 th from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Hosted by Uplift's Young Professionals Board, $1 of every delicious brew enjoyed in Evil Genius’ beer garden will be donated to Uplift. Keeping the Connection
In Uplift’s Family Services grief groups, children decorated picture frames in memory of their person who died. Specially chosen stickers and decorations remind the children of their person’s interests and favorite things. In grief groups, children are encouraged to create linking objects to stay connected to their person in their minds and hearts.
Golf Is Just Around the Corner!
Monday, June 3rd is fast approaching. Have you signed up for Uplift's 18th Annual Golf Invitational? There are plenty of ways to be a part of this fun event - serve as a sponsor, play as part of a foursome (or threesome or twosome or individually), or just join us for dinner. Held once again at the beautiful White Manor Country Club, it promises to be a great day. We hope to see you there!
May and June are tough months for many of the children in Uplift’s grief groups – Mother’s Day and Father’s Day bring with them reminders of what they’ve lost. But thanks to your support , these children aren’t alone – they have each other to lean on.

Please give today . Together, we can ensure that no child has to grieve alone.

P.S. Your gift before June 30th will help Uplift end its program year on a high note!
