From the desk of our
S.T.E.A.M. Lab
This week in STEAM we wrapped up our dinosaur unit. The kids enjoyed making dino prints in the play-dough and becoming paleontologists as they dug out dinosaur bones and fossils. Kindergarten also stepped in to put the finishing touches on the mural!

HS Judaic Siyum
Every May the high school gathers for a festive celebration of all the Torah that we have collectively learned this year. Our annual '
siyum
' (completion) allows students and teachers to reflect on the highlights of our learning and share
divrei torah
(talks on Torah) with friends while consuming good food.

Hot and Spicy Mishna
Rabbi Block's 6th Grade Mishna Class recently learned the laws about making
Brachot (blessings)
on food mixtures. Additionally, the class learned a Mishna that a
Bracha (Blessing)
is only recited on water that is intended to quench one's thirst, as opposed to taking a pill or removing a sharp flavor from one's mouth. To illustrate this
Halacha (law)
, the class had a spicy chip challenge to see whose mouth could handle the most heat. Water was provided (no
Bracha
of course!).
