Ingham Impact Podcast - MiCareerQuest Capital Area
MiCareerQuest Capital Area is a new, hands-on, career exploration event helping middle and high school students to better understand career opportunities in our area. On April 26, in partnership with T3, approximately 3,000 students from the region participated in hands-on activities to learn more about exciting career fields from local businesses. Sending a huge shout out to all business, education and community partners that played a role in implementing another event that helps connect young talent to businesses as we explore ways to fill the talent gap. Criminal Justice Training House Opens
After years of planning, Noel Garcia's vision for his students at the Wilson Talent Center and local law enforcement became a reality. On May 16, Law Enforcement Officials, Criminal Justice Instructors and Ingham ISD Leadership gathered to cut the ribbon on a brand new training facility. This facility is like no other in the state. It's used to train high school students in the Ingham ISD service area and law enforcement professionals. Thank you to our partner agencies and our instructors, Noel Garcia and Jorge Gomez for making this vision a reality.

Applebee's Teacher of the Year Award
Applebee's Leadership Team arrived on May 21 to surprise Chef Corbett Day with a
Teacher of the Year Award. Chef Day was nominated by three of his students, and according to Applebee's, that does not normally happen. Usually the nominations come from parents, and it's a real rarity to receive multiple nominations for the same person. Ingham ISD is proud to have talented teachers at the
Wilson Talent Center like Chef Day. Thank you Chef for your exceptional teaching strategies and innovative ideas to support student achievement.

The Corner of Howell and Hagadorn
As you may remember from last year's announcement, the corner of Howell and Hagadorn is being developed into a wildlife habitat by the Wilson Talent Center BioScience Careers class and community partners. Students are "dragging" the field to remove rocks and prepare the soil for planting in late May/early June. The grasslands will take a of couple years to establish and will create a great habitat for butterflies, bees, birds and more wildlife. Thank you to all of our partners. Read more at What's Happening on the Corner.
