Spring at Rock Harbor

May 2018

Summer certainly awaits, but for now enjoy the late spring as temperatures start to warm.  So, savor the moment, come to the Cape, take a stroll on our glorious beaches, and finish the evening at one of our many fabulous restaurants (more of that later).  As usual Jo and I have been busy at the Inn.  Willows has been upgraded to a full king, we've painted and distressed our fireplace in the lounge to give it a more contemporary feel, and continue to add to the gardens.
So, if you feel the urge to get away for a short break before the season starts think of us, we have some great offers to take advantage of, and with so much going on now, it's a great time to come.

Lunch on the Cape

For our most recent blog, we thought it would be interesting to look at our favorite lunch spots.  Cape Cod is home to a number of delicious and amazingly fresh places, our only criteria for this review was that the restaurant/cafe has to be within 20 minutes to the Inn and must have a water view. The annual herring run
For those familiar, we love this annual event.  From mid-April until the end of May, the herrings who spend most of their lives in the ocean, return to the same fresh water ponds or lakes where they were born to spawn. Schools of herring navigate up the streams and brooks to their spawning grounds.  On the way and at many spots on route, they gather in shallow ponds before continuing their leaping up the waterfalls and "ladders" to their final destination.  However there is a twist, it is a remarkable sight.  [read more]
