June 2019 Exhibit
The Washington County Arts Council hosts “Sketchy Women + 1” from May 30, 2019 through June 29, 2019 with an Opening Reception on Thursday, May 30, 2019 from 5pm – 7 pm. Exhibiting artists include Sherry Lazaroff, Linda Barnhart, Marti Welch, Jill Atherton, Janette Cantrell and William Roberts

The Washington County Arts Council, Inc. (WCAC) and Washington Goes Purple invite local artists working in any medium to submit their art for a September 2019 exhibit, “Purple Haze: Selective Perception.” The juried community art exhibit will run from August 29, 2019 through October 1, 2019 with an opening reception on Thursday, August 29, 2019 from 5pm to 7pm. The exhibit, “Purple Haze: Selective Perceptions”, strives to build awareness in our communities to “stand against substance abuse.”

The exhibit is comprised of a selection of paintings from England, Ireland and beyond from our globe-trotting Valley Art members - Anita Shively, Laura Schindle, Janie Moltrup, Leona Kronstadt, and Virginia Hair.
Hours are Fridays & Saturdays 11 am to 4 pm, Sundays 1 to 4 pm. Free admission and opening reception on Sunday May 5

GT MGMT and Coreleone Recs., LLC present The Fast Lane to Success 1st Annual 2019 Independent Artist Music Awards Show.
The Fast Lane to Success Awards Show was created to give back with awards of achievement, to educate and empower individuals whom are interested in the entertainment industry.
The format of The Artist Choice Awards Show is to bring in an industry panel guest to answer any questions pertaining to the music industry. In addition, chosen artists will performance and receive feedback. This gives an additional opportunity for an artist to receive a trophy award. Once all performances are done, these panelists are known to do what is called, the “Artist Give-Back.” The “Artist Give-Back” may include such situations as, distribution, marketing, performances, tour situations, studio time, management agreements, recording opportunities, artist development, radio interviews, magazine, etc.

presents “From Adam and Eve to the Modern Witch: The Power of Women and the Problematic Body in the Age of Dürer Lecture” by Robert Baldwin, Ph.D.

Since 1985,
Robert Baldwin
has been teaching at Connecticut College. His courses and research interests cover European art from the late Middle Ages through the Nineteenth Century with a focus on painting and prints. In an academic world rewarding specialists, he is more of a generalist, with main thematic interests in gender, nature, and music. He has created three, unpublished anthologies of primary texts in these areas. Published articles and a few hundred unpublished essays can be found on his website:

Stories In The Round - Elaine Muray

Elaine Muray integrates movement and narration to deliver stories from around the world, folk tales and personal stories. She has performed at the Australian Storytelling Festival, Northlands Storytelling Conference, and Jemez Storytelling Festival. She grew up listening to the stories of her community in her father’s barber shop, influenced by her extended family’s love of literature, oratory, movement and dance. Exposed to a performance by mime master Marcel Marceau in the 90’s, and then Tony Montanaro and Paata Tsikurishvili. Her most recent performances include storytelling tours for English immersion schools in Colombia, China, Korea, Chile, and Peru. Her DVD, “Embodied & Enchanted” won the Storytelling World Resource Award in the DVD category.
