Annual Congregational Meeting

At Temple B'nai Chaim there are two Congregational meetings each year, held in November and May. You are encouraged to attend what promises to be an important and informative meeting; this is your opportunity to provide input to the direction of our synagogue.
Of particular interest this time are the presentation and vote on our budget, a security update and vision for next year (see the Call to Annual Congregation Meeting).
To conduct official synagogue business, we need a quorum of attendees from 15 percent of our member units. Come, be counted in the quorum, and have your voice be heard!

We Won't Go Back: A Shabbat Sermon

The recent push to legislate women's choices may employ the language of protecting God's creations, but at the heart of each of these laws is the desire to legally re-establish that idea that a man is ha-adam, the creation made in God's image, while a woman is simply ishto, a creature that is man-adjacent and that was created from the bit of God's image that could be spared from Adam.

The Consultation of Conscience brings together Jewish congregational and communal leaders to build meaningful connections, learn and expand the skills needed for social change, and deepen our knowledge of critical issues facing our communities. Held over three days in Washington, DC, including advocacy visits on Capitol Hill, the Consultation offers leadership training, network building, and in-depth issue education for Reform Movement social justice leaders.

The Daily Bread Food Pantry is an ecumenical food pantry servicing the Greater Danbury community. Its mission is to help those in need of food, whatever their circumstances, and maintain the dignity of clients in a compassionate and caring atmosphere.
The Daily Bread Food Pantry is located in the rear building at St. James' Episcopal Church, Danbury.

The Jewish tradition teaches us that we should offer a blessing of gratitude every time we see a rainbow. In this spirit, on Friday, June 28, we will come together for our annual Pride Shabbat where we will celebrate the beautiful rainbow of human experience and honor the movement for LGBTQ equality.
Pride Torah Study -
Saturday, June 29 at 9:30 am
Join Rabbi Bearman for this special Torah Study. We will explore LGBTQ themes in our weekly Torah as well as other texts of our movement tracing the journey the movement has taken to embrace, support, and celebrate the LGBTQ community, and discuss where we hope to see more progress in the future.

| Don't Forget the Turnover Shop!
Temple B'nai Chaim receives 60% of the proceeds from your donations to the Wilton Turnover Shop, a non-profit thrift shop located in the Village Market building in Wilton Center.
The Turnover shop is run entirely by volunteers and benefits the Wilton schools' PTA and local nursing and home care. If you are cleaning out your closets, the shop will accept seasonal clothing, house wares, small furniture and collectibles.

Share Your Simcha - Sponsor a Preneg, Oneg or Flowers!
A great way of celebrating special simchas, such as birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, the birth of a child or grandchild, is sharing your nachas with the entire congregation by sponsoring the Shabbat Oneg, preneg or flowers for the Friday of your special week. We will arrange for the flowers, food, and set-up, you just make a minimum donation of $125 for an Oneg, $180 for a Preneg or $250 for the flowers. Sponsor a Shabbat!
