PresidentPresident's Note
Hello Everyone,

As senior workers, we all work with many veterans or the families of veterans.  I know that many senior living communities recognize those that live with us that have served in one way or another.  Make sure that we take time between our fun festivities that are planned to remember those who have fought and gave the ultimate sacrifice. Know that our veterans survived their time at war but may be sad as they remember friends and family and their fellow soldiers that did not return.

Remembering the reasons we celebrate Memorial Day does bring in a certain somber air-and that should be alright. Simply acknowledging that many in our community feel significant loss around this day of honor does wonders. For one, it reminds our veterans and family of fallen and living heroes that their sacrifices are remembered and appreciated.

Please remember to fly your flag at half-staff until noon and to take part in the National Moment of Silence at 3:00 p.m. in memory of those who gave their lives for our freedoms.  Take a second look at the hero's who stand among us today...  our own family, neighbors and friends. Teach the young about Memorial Day. Crank up the patriotic music and sing loud!

I hope you all have a great long holiday weekend!

Sincerely

Judy Deck e r
