Teacher Appreciation Sunday
Let's celebrate all Shepherd of the Hills teachers on Sunday, May 6, at the 8:00 am service, in church, and at the 10:45 am worship service, in the gym! Following the 8:00 am service will be a cake reception in the Gym.

Especially, Shepherd will be thanking God for the 40 year ministry of Jack Lipski, as counselor and teacher; Nathanael Poppe as a Minister of Religion, for 5 years and Molly Poppe for her 4 year Ministry.

With rejoicing, we will also praise and thank God for Mrs. Susan Shoaf, who after 36 years as a Minister of Religion is retiring and Mrs. Audrey Monson, who has been the School Librarian for 31 years, as she retires.

We are also having a retirement luncheon reception, in the retirees' honor, immediately following the late service, in the Parish Hall. If you would like to attend the luncheon reception please:
  • Last name starts with A-L bring a vegetable or fruit salad,
  • Last name starts with M-Z bring a dessert.
Please join us as we thank and praise the Lord for their years of faithful service!
Calling All Dads!
PTL is looking for a few Dads to help with our annual Mom's and Muffins event on Monday May 14. We will need help from 7:30-8:45 am with set up, serving, and clean up. This is a great way to honor our moms and earn service hours at the same time! Please contact Tracy Fellows if you are available to help us out with this event, [email protected].

School Sign
Some have asked about the meaning of the current signage.  One of the auction items this year was to have verbiage of your choice displayed on the marquee for 2 weeks of the month that was purchased. Lilley's (Shepherd 5th grade student) next door neighbor, Lawrence had Alzheimer's and she befriended him.  His daughter Beth bought this to show how much she appreciated Lilley and wanted all of us to know what she meant to him!

Piano in the Summer
Did you know that individual piano lessons are offered at Shepherd during the school day AND throughout the SUMMER?!?   Summer can be a great time for piano lessons!  For information regarding summer lessons or school time lessons, contact [email protected] or pick up a brochure in the school office. New research is proving that there is no other activity that stimulates as much of the brain simultaneously as reading music! Take advantage of what piano lessons can do for your child academically, emotionally, artistically and creatively!

Jack's Corner
QUESTION: Our son is a good boy, but lately, we have caught him lying a number of times. There doesn't seem to be much of a reason because the situations aren't that important. What's going on, and what can we do?

ANSWER: Lying is as old as Satan (the "father of lies") in the Garden. Deception and hiding were Adam and Eve's way of handling their choice to disobey. Most children at least "experiment" with lying for...
