Airweld and Lincoln--Off to the Races!
Airweld is proud to continue the tradition of partnering with Lincoln Electric at NHRA events this year! Team Airweld, consisting of VP Eric Terwilliger, Director of Sales Jim Bendernagel and Director of E-Commerce John McNulty, joined the Lincoln Electric team at the NHRA Virginia Nationals, May 17th through 19th, in Richmond.

The partnership, extending back to 2010, started when Lincoln asked Airweld to attend an NHRA race in Englishtown, New Jersey, when their local distributor couldn’t make it. “Lincoln was amazed at Airweld’s pro-active approach to the event,” commented Terwilliger. “We showed up prepared to engage attendees, including outstanding equipment sales and raffles to promote both of our brands,” he added.

Team Airweld’s NHRA calendar includes the Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis, August 28th through September 2nd and the MOPAR Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway in Reading, Pennsylvania, September 12-15.

Mike's Art Werks -- Talent, Vision and Caring
Mike Boyce has a unique sense of vision. When other’s see junk, he sees gold and the Golden Rule! As an artist, welder, metal sculptor and painter, the Elizabeth City, NC, owner of Mike’s Art Werks ( mikesartwerks.com ) transforms scrap metal and machine parts into breath-taking “werks” of art that he both sells and donates to worthy causes.

Team Airweld met Mike at the NHRA Virginia Nationals in May and was impressed not only with his talent but also his generosity in donating many of his special creations to veterans and other charitable causes.

In 2015, he started fabricating metal for the race car industry including custom motorcycles and trucks. His mother-in-law, who was fighting cancer at the time, was sensitive to flowers so he was inspired to make her a metal rose. Those who saw this special gift began asking him to make dragon flies and other metal sculptures to cheer on and memorialize their loved ones. He began hearing their heart felt stories and realized his special calling.

As his father was a two tour Vietnam Veteran who passed from exposure to agent orange, he wanted to do as much as possible for veterans and began fabricating beautiful and unique American Flags. These flags were donated to local veteran’s organizations and then to national veteran events where they were auctioned off to raise money for veteran causes. He also donated his creations to the local Coast Guard and Red Knights Motorcycle Club, a Fire Fighter organization that raised money in a relay to fight breast cancer.
“I feel like the Good Lord blessed me with a talent and the opportunity to give back, from my heart, and make a difference in someone’s life,” Mike beamed. “We need to take care of our vets and cancer patients and not depend on government. This is my mission!,” he added.

We thank you Mike Boyce! You will help to change the world with your art, one beautiful piece at a time!

Meet Greg Catanzarita

Greg Catanzarita’s position as a service tech for IBM just “did not compute.”
Seeking a change, a friend told him about an opening at Airweld. Ten years later, Greg is Repair Department Manager and loving it!

“I appreciate the autonomy and trust that Airweld offers,” Greg commented. This volunteer fire fighter and father of three enjoys spare time golfing with his kids and fixing up old motorcycles and cars. He also says that he doesn’t take himself too seriously and loves to laugh!

Something was “bugging” Danny Reyes. He was working for Volkswagen Service and it was farfegnugen from his ideal job. A relative told him about an opening at Airweld and 3-1/2 years later he is having funfegroovin!

An expert in all aspects of cylinder maintenance, Danny makes sure that the tanks our customers receive are in tip-top shape. “I am thankful for the training and opportunity to grow that Airweld offers me,” Danny says. This father of two loves to spend time with him sons and customize cars.
