Outdoor Worship at 10:00 am
This Sunday, join us as we worship outdoors for the first time this summer.
We also continue our summer sermon series, "Word." Each week, we hear a passage of scripture chosen by a member of our church family, who will then share with us how this particular scripture is God's Word for them. This week, Jim Tomaszewski, who is also our lay worship leader, will share how John 13:3-17
has shaped his view of discipleship. Amy Starr Redwine's sermon will be on this same text and is titled, "Not My Feet."
Music Notes: We welcome Covenant choir soloist Lynne Hoffman-Engel to our service this weekend, presenting two works: Alfred Malotte's The 23rd Psalm and Duke Ellington's Come Sunday. Our service music will be accompanied by the melodious strains of our field organ and a string quartet.
Summer Hymn Requests
Haven't sung your favorite hymn in a while? Here's your chance. Let us know your hymn request(s) and a possible date for your request over the summer months of June, July, and August. You may submit up to two hymns (in order of priority). Please submit hymn titles from either our current pew hymnal or the new "Glory to God" hymnal.

Children leave for Sunday School after the Time for Young Disciples. The nursery opens at 9:30 am with professional childcare for infants and preschoolers.

Common Ground
Join us after worship on Sunday, June 24 for food and conversation
On
Sunday, June 24, 2018
, Common Ground will bring residents of Cuyahoga, Lake, and Geauga counties together for a day of community conversation. This annual event brings people together around a common table in neighborhoods across our region. This year's theme is "Why Does Place Matter?" At our Common Ground event, we will be asking questions about how we create community beyond the walls of the church and bring people together to support and nurture one another in our community of University Circle. Covenant members who plan to attend are asked to bring either a salad or dessert to share.

We pray for those struggling with illness, convalescing, or home-bound; the patients, family, and staff in our surrounding hospitals; and those who have placed prayer requests in our Carpenter's Box.
Please keep in prayer the six youth and three adults who will be traveling to Memphis, TN from
June 17-22
for a week of worship, service and fellowship with Memphis Youth Mission. Thank you for all the ways in which you support our youth. We look forward to sharing with you our experiences upon our return.

Melanie Marsh Baum is preaching at Fairmount Presbyterian Church in Cleveland Heights this Sunday. Mindy Stewart is traveling to Memphis with Covenant and Fairmount youth to work with Memphis Youth Mission and will be gone next week, as well as Sunday. Shannon James will be on vacation from June 19-22.

Outreach Opportunities
2018 Habitat 5k Walk-Run-Mosey
Please consider joining us on this Saturday, June 16th at Edgewater Park at 10am for the Habitat for Humanity 17th-Annual Walk/Run/Mosey.
There is a 5k route and a 1-mile fun route. If you would like to join our group please click

This is a family-friendly, dog-friendly, and donut-friendly run/
walk
/mosey (or come for fellowship and donuts!).
The
walk
is free, but all funds raised
will go to rehabbing a beautiful Habitat house in the Buckeye Neighborhood for a family.
Camp Kesem and our Deacons would like your support
in securing summer camp supplies for young people whose parents have or have had cancer. The Deacons are working with the CWRU chapter of this national organization and we still have opportunities for you to help campers from throughout northeast Ohio, ages six through eighteen. Visit our display in the reception room during the week, or chat with a Deacon after worship on Sunday.We would like to thank everyone who already sent in a donation. If you would like to donate please drop off your purchased supplies on or before this Sunday, June 17th in the church office.Contact Matthew Garrett for additional information.
 Summer Desserts for Transplant House This summer, COTC is again working with our Mission Partners at Transplant House to provide Wednesday
night desserts for the residents and their families, in conjunction with Wade Oval Wednesdays. You can help by donating cash ($11 buys one quart of ice cream), or providing treats to serve 12 people. Sign up online here or in the church office. For more information, contact Mary Anne Bromelmeier.

Summer Learning
Half-Truths: "God Helps Those Who Help Themselves," and Other Things the Bible Doesn't Say
This video and discussion course will take place on Sundays in July from 11:30 am until 12:30 pm in our newly renovated Dowd Commons on the lower level of the church. A repeat of Sunday's material will occur from 5:30-6:30 pm on Thursday Evenings. Join us for a time of learning and dialogue!

Community Events
 Credo Music Festival is
an Oberlin-based, Christ-centered music program for high school and college students, is sending its gifted young musicians throughout Lorain and Cuyahoga Counties to do community service. They will be giving concerts in venues including assisted living facilities and hospitals, and will be working in settings ranging from Habitat for Humanity to local food banks.

CASA of Cuyahoga County, a program of Child and Family Advocates of Cuyahoga County, is searching for volunteers to advocate for kids who have been neglected and abused. Court-Appointed Special Advocates, or CASAs, are everyday citizens who are trained and appointed by the court to advocate for the safety and well-being of children. CASAs collect information that helps the Court make the best decision for a safe, caring, and permanent home for children involved in the juvenile justice and child welfare systems. The CASA is responsible for investigation, facilitation, advocacy, and monitoring of the assigned child's case and to represent the child's best interests.
