Skyline Transportation, Inc.
Greetings to all and thank you for taking the time to peruse the November TTA newsletter.

I had the pleasure to attend some of the Fall Conference that was held in Pigeon Forge in late October and what a great event that was. The steering committee did a great job developing relevant and intriguing content and there’s no doubt that everyone who attended benefited greatly. Not only was the content of the Fall Conference excellent, the social planner deserves a special nod for arranging the axe throwing event on Wednesday afternoon. It was my first experience and needless to say, I’ll definitely make plans to do so again. To sum it up: hatchets were tossed, friends were made, nicknames were earned, and no digits were lost!

As I am writing this, we are just 5 days away from the election and by the time you are reading this, our country will have attempted to elect our 46th President. This election year has been more volatile than any I can remember and I have two main desires; first is that each and every one of you cast your vote for the candidates of your choice, and second, is that no matter the outcome, our country can have a smooth transition into the next 4 years. I have a strong feeling the TTA and our PAC will need to be very proactive moving forward and I encourage everyone to support with their time and of course financially when possible.

Everyone be safe and stay healthy!

2020 FALL CONFERENCE
We had a blast at the Annual TTA Fall Conference at Dollywood's DreamMore Resort! We really appreciate all of our wonderful sponsors and all the attendees who made this year's conference a success. This year we had to do things a bit different, but we still think it was an amazing conference and we can't wait to see you all again next year!

We kicked off Fall Conference with an awesome Axe Throwing Networking Event at the Pigeon Forge Axe House. We know this was definitely a huge success and favorite of everyone who attended!

We had some great speakers present who included: Renee Tracy, McKee Foods, Mark Adams, Willis Towers and Watson, Donna England, TTA, Gerald Mead, Hub Group, Brad Telfeyan, Maggie Roney & Mary Beth White, Lewis Thomason, and a Regulatory Panel with Stephanie Mann, FMSCA, Cpt. Travis Plotzer, THP, and Lt. Allen England, THP.

We gave away some great door prizes and had some laughs playing Extreme Bingo and singing karaoke at this year's banquet. We can't wait to host Fall Conference again next year! To view pictures from Fall Conference, click here.

Thank you again to all the sponsors listed below and attendees who made this event a great one!

As TAT works to educate, equip, empower, and mobilize members of the truck, bus, and energy industries to combat human trafficking as part of their regular jobs, they wanted to create a podcast that would serve as a helpful training tool to one of the largest mobile armies of eyes and ears out there on the roads seeking to recognize and report this heinous crime. Each short episode is designed to refresh critical issues learned and keep this life-saving information
top of mind.

In October, Tennessee lawmakers and candidates alike continued to fundraise in anticipation of the November election. President Donald Trump and Republican U.S. Senate candidate Bill Hagerty remain frontrunners in the Volunteer State and are expected to win by hefty margins. All 99 House seats are up for re-election this year, as are half of the Senate seats, given that Representatives serve two-year terms and Senators serve four-year terms. However, we anticipate that the makeup of the General Assembly will not be significantly impacted in the general election.

The race for District 20 in suburban Nashville continues to garner the most attention at the state-level, as incumbent Republican Senator Steve Dickerson faces off against the former Democratic mayor of Oak Hill, Heidi Campbell. Similarly, the District 10 seat held by Republican Senator Todd Gardenhire of Chattanooga is receiving increased attention, as Gardenhire faces off against Democratic police chief Glenn Scruggs.

In October, two members of Governor Bill Lee’s cabinet announced their departures for the private sector, Commissioner Danielle Barnes of the Department of Human Services and Commissioner Hogden Mainda of the Department of Commerce and Insurance.  We will keep you updated with future developments on the election front. As always, it is a pleasure to represent you at the Tennessee General Assembly.

2020 Raffle Tickets Sales Are Essential This Year!

386 of 1,000 tickets sold!

The Thanksgiving Holiday is approaching and we realize all families will have to be creative in their Thanksgiving celebrations in order to stay safe. We all have to try and stay focused on what is positive and all we are thankful for this crazy season.

One of the things you can be thankful for is our Tennessee Road Team's passion for safety and saving lives. Thousands of Tennessee drivers who will be on the highways this Thanksgiving weekend have heard their educational presentations about blind spots, drowsy and distracted driving and how to drive safely on the road with large trucks. To help them continue their safety education, please remember to purchase your raffle tickets. Purchasing is so simple. Just call the TTA office at (615) 777-2882 to make your purchase. We need to reach our goal of 1,000 tickets and you can help with your ticket purchase.

Ask your friends and family if they would like a chance to win 1st Prize of $15,000 or 2nd Prize of $5,000. Each $50 purchase of a raffle ticket will help us to reach our goal of $50,000 for the Foundation and the winners will have a nice bundle of cash for Christmas Shopping!

If you have a favorite Road Team Captain you would like to support, you can call the TTA Office at (615) 777-2882 to purchase tickets and credit them to a specific Captain. They are having a contest and for every 10 tickets they sell, they get one free. You can also go to this LINK and purchase your tickets and you can add the Road Team Captain at the bottom of the link.   You can also download a 2020 Cash Raffle form and email to cfoster@tntrucking.org to purchase you tickets and a receipt for your purchase will be emailed to you. Tickets can't be mailed out until they are paid.

Please share this opportunity with your family and friends this Thanksgiving!
Someone will thank you if they win!
