1-1-1 for Missions
(High school student Mitch R.)

Peace Lutheran-Windsor's participation in the 1-1-1 program really began with the District Convention in June 2018. After the presentation, our lay delegate, Ron Schertzer, looked at me and said, "We need to do this at Peace!" We showed it at the next church council meeting, and for the most part they were receptive, though a few had their doubts - either thinking that members would not be that interested in participating, or (since our Canadian dollars are in coins) that it was going to be a bunch of extra work for the finance committee to put them in rolls.

On the Sunday we introduced it to the congregation, I incorporated the district video into my sermon. Starting that Sunday (and every Sunday since), we have included some blurb about 1-1-1 in the bulletin, often times coming from one of the FAQs from the district website.

The Lord has truly blessed our members with enthusiasm and a desire to participate in this mission work for the sake of His harvest!

We have been given the ultimate gift: forgiveness and salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. That gift is pure joy to us, bringing us peace and hope that just have to be shared. The 2019–21 National Offering is your opportunity to share that joy, to bring that peace and hope into dark and lonely places. This triennium, the National Offering will bring joy to even more people and places, and you can help bring that "joy to the world! "

Watch this video to learn more about the 2019 National Offering.
