Church School Update
Summer Sundays
During the summer, Church School students are welcome to attend Summer Sunday School in one of the lower-level classrooms. Students will participate in lectionary-based activities and enjoy a snack. Summer Sunday School begins June 2 at 10 am and participants will join their parents in the church during the time of the Peace. The summer schedule continues through August 25.
Parish Picnic in the Street
The Parish Picnic in the Street was lots of fun with Wayne the Balloon Man, face painting by Jessica Dana, pony rides, bouncy house, and more. Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time to help make this event a success. More pictures of the picnic are posted on the Church School Instagram page and the CSMSG Facebook page.
Father Andrew and Senior Warden Betsy Douglass have commissioned a strategic planning committee to look at how our church can remain strong and get even stronger over the next five years. Things are going well, but we cannot stand still! The committee is called FaithfullyForward and is comprised of parishioners nominated by the Vestry, as follows:
Patrick Akins
Nic Ayling
Laurie Brown
Anne Davidson
Kate Harris
Jim Holbrook
Tracee Holmes
Tom Horlacher
Gayle Jackson
John Koykka
Stephanie Nash
Sam Panke
Terese Portell
Nancy Reynolds
Patience Schock
Joe Sheehan
John Tyler
The committee is now in the process of four big pieces of work: 1) looking at what other churches are doing, locally and nationally, for good ideas that could apply to us; 2) talking to internal staff and lay leaders for their opinions and ideas; 3) planning for focus groups and a parish-wide survey over the next several months; and 4) looking at the best ways to communicate with everyone in the parish on an ongoing basis, to keep everyone informed, in touch, and excited about what's going on here. It is anticipated that the planning will take a year, with a full report presented to the Vestry and the congregation.

We want your input, ideas, and questions, so please see one of the committee members listed above or email us at CSMSGstratplan@gmail.com anytime.
