A Message from our Director

Our mission as the Naugatuck Chamber of Commerce is to serve as a network, resource and advocate for the business community. Part of that mission is advocating to the public to support and patronize our local businesses, and we look forward to doing that over the next couple of months.

I encourage you to support your fellow business owners by participating in some of the great opportunities coming up downtown, including Saturday's Downtown Festival and the 13th Annual Duck Race and Festival on June 3rd. This Saturday (or Sunday, if it rains!) come visit the Chamber's booth at the Downtown Festival on Church Street and get your duck tickets! Check out the other vendors and see all of the wonderful shops and organizations doing business in Naugatuck.

On Sunday, June 3rd, join us on Maple and Water Streets, on Parcel B directly behind Nardelli's, as we fill the area with vendors, businesses, crafters, games, food, entertainment and fun! The Annual Duck Day & Festival helps support dozens of area nonprofits as a fundraiser, and supports the Naugatuck Chamber in our mission to serve you, the business community.

We'd love to see you at these or any of our other upcoming events, including our annual Chamber & YMCA Golf Outing coming up on June 26th. Please reach out to me and tell me how our staff can support your business and the Naugatuck community at (203) 757-0701 or cligi@waterburychamber.com

Ion Bank Foundation Announces 9th Annual Community Awards Program Winners
The Ion Bank Foundation announced the winners of its 9th Annual Community Awards Program at a special ceremony awarding grants totaling $68,700 to 167 local non-profit organizations. The program, which took place from Feb 1 through March 31, encouraged Ion Bank customers to vote for a local charity of their choice to receive a grant from the Foundation. Over 2,680 customers voted this year which was a 10% increase over votes received in last year's program. The Ion Bank Foundation designated $60,000 for the program but because it has grown in popularity and so many votes were received, the grants payout totaled $68,700. "This program is a wonderful collaboration between our customers, Foundation and the organizations that our customers feel have the most impact to local communities," said Charles J. Boulier III, Ion Bank CEO. "Our customers are very passionate about their local charities and this program is a wonderful way for them to recognize those organizations and help us decide how our Foundation's funds are distributed."
